Terms of Service

The rules for using Numberli responsibly, contributing information and understanding the limits of community-based caller insights.

Pre-launch draft · Updated 1 November 2026

Pre-launch terms: Numberli is still under development. Numberli is intended to be operated by a company currently being established in Egypt. The company has not yet been legally incorporated or registered. These terms are a pre-launch draft; the registered company details and final legal wording must be added and reviewed by a qualified lawyer before commercial launch.

1. Who provides Numberli

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to the Numberli website, app and related services (together, the "Service"). Numberli is intended to be operated by a company currently being established in Egypt ("Numberli", "we", "us"). The company is not yet incorporated or registered and therefore does not yet have a registered legal name or address. The final operator details will be inserted after registration and before commercial launch.

2. Agreement and eligibility

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You may use Numberli only if you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement and are permitted to use the Service under the laws that apply to you. The Service is not directed to children.

3. What Numberli does

Numberli is being developed as a phone-number lookup and caller-context service. Depending on release status, device, operating system and location, features may include number lookup, community-contributed tags, spam reports, caller identification, spam protection and optional contact syncing. Some website pages currently show illustrative previews only; a preview is not a real search result and does not mean a feature is live. We do not guarantee that any particular feature will be available at all times or in every country.

4. Accounts and verification

You must provide a phone number that you control and complete the verification method offered by Numberli. The planned sign-in flow uses a user-initiated WhatsApp message and may depend on Meta/WhatsApp availability and their terms. You are responsible for keeping access to your device and messaging account secure. Do not share verification codes or allow another person to use your account. One account per verified phone number may be enforced.

5. Acceptable use

You must use Numberli lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

6. Contact syncing

Contact syncing is optional and is not required for features that do not need it. If you choose to enable it when available, you authorize the app to transmit the contact fields described in the in-app consent notice to Numberli's servers for phone-number matching and lookup database purposes. You confirm that you have the legal right to provide those details and have given any notices or obtained any permissions required by applicable law. Do not enable syncing if you cannot make that confirmation.

Disabling contact syncing prevents future syncs but does not automatically remove information already contributed to the shared database. The handling of previously submitted information is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. User contributions and licence

You retain any rights you have in content you submit. You grant Numberli a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting and deduplication, analyse and display your tags, number associations and reports as reasonably necessary to operate, secure and improve the lookup and community features, subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law. This licence may continue for contributions retained in the shared lookup database after account deletion, where lawful and as described in the Privacy Policy.

You represent that your contributions are accurate to the best of your knowledge, are not unlawful or abusive, do not violate another person's rights, and that you have authority to submit them. We may hide, remove, restrict or decline contributions that appear unlawful, harmful, misleading, duplicative or inconsistent with these Terms.

8. Community information is not verified identity

Tags and spam reports are community-provided information. They may be incomplete, outdated, subjective, mistaken or malicious. A tag does not prove who owns or uses a number. A spam report does not establish that a caller committed fraud or another offence. Caller identification can be affected by number reassignment, spoofing, shared devices, recycled numbers and inaccurate submissions. Always verify a caller independently. Do not rely on Numberli as the sole basis for financial, legal, medical, emergency, employment, credit or other high-impact decisions.

9. Automated moderation and restrictions

We may use automated systems to identify duplicate contributions, unusual syncing, bulk activity, spam, fraud indicators and other potential violations. Depending on the evidence and severity, we may reject a contribution, apply rate limits, pause syncing, limit features, suspend or block an account, or preserve relevant security records. Automated signals can be wrong. Where a review or appeal channel is available, you may ask us to reconsider a restriction. We may maintain internal records of decisions to protect the Service and prevent repeated abuse.

10. Privacy and data

Our Privacy Policy explains what information the Service is designed to process, why it is used, contact syncing, retention and your privacy choices. Read it before creating an account or enabling optional features. If these Terms and the Privacy Policy address personal-data processing differently, the Privacy Policy governs that processing to the extent required by applicable law.

11. Third-party services

Some features may rely on third-party services, including WhatsApp/Meta for account verification, hosting and infrastructure providers, app stores and device operating-system features. Your use of those services may also be subject to their separate terms and privacy policies. Numberli does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their independent availability or practices.

12. Intellectual property

The Numberli name, branding, website design, software and materials owned by Numberli are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the Service for its intended lawful purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or create derivative works from our materials except where the law permits or we give written permission.

13. Availability, changes and termination

We may update, suspend or discontinue any feature for security, maintenance, legal or operational reasons. We may restrict or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create risk for others or the Service, or where we are legally required to do so. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address an issue. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion through the available account process.

14. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, completeness or accuracy of community information, or that a caller can always be identified. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Numberli will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, loss of profits, loss of data, reputational harm or decisions made in reliance on user-submitted tags or reports. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or other non-excludable liability. Any monetary cap or consumer-law wording must be completed by legal counsel for the operating entity and relevant markets before launch.

16. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for losses and claims arising from your unlawful use of the Service or your breach of these Terms, including contributions you had no right to submit. This section does not apply where prohibited by applicable consumer or other mandatory law.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and the dispute process must be completed after the operating entity and target markets are confirmed. [Insert governing law, competent courts or agreed dispute-resolution process, and any mandatory consumer-rights wording after legal review.] Nothing in this section removes mandatory rights you have under the law that applies to you.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms as Numberli develops. We will update the revision date and provide notice of material changes where appropriate. If you continue to use the Service after revised Terms take effect, the updated Terms will apply to future use, subject to any consent or notice required by law.

19. Contact

Questions or legal notices should be sent to [email protected] or the registered address of the operating entity once published. See the Contact page. The company's registered legal name, registered address and final legal details will be added after incorporation and before commercial launch.
